About the Author

My life began in foster homes and girl’s homes, many of which were lived in the worst neighborhoods in Los Angeles. I lived in a convent, and spent a lot of time in juvenile hall. My miserable  life continued into adulthood, involving drugs and incarceration. My whole existence was a hopeless mess for many years. Right before I accepted Jesus Christ into my life, I had been living on the street for two years, and my intention of ending my life came about on more than one occasion.

I hated myself, and I knew I was a ‘good for nothing’. It didn’t seem necessary to continue living, since my life had no purpose, no joy, no peace, and no hope. There was no future for me, except to continue living just to suffer.

But Jesus changed all of that.

Since I accepted Christ into my life in 1989, He has radically transformed every aspect of my life. I have been healed spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

I went back to school and earned my Registered  Nursing Degree with honors. I have been happily married for over 30 years, and my life is so full of joy, peace, and purpose now, it’s hard to believe I used to be that broken shell. I’m so thankful that God did not allow my life to be cut short.

I have facilitated a women’s Bible study group since  2000, and many women have been set free in that group from addiction, religiosity, guilt, shame, and self-hatred. And those in my study who had been Christians for many years have entered into a more dynamic and satisfying relationship with Jesus than ever before.

It is my utter joy and passion to serve the Lord by serving people. There is no way to repay God for the glorious life that He has given me. I will faithfully spend the rest of my life trying to impart His Truth to those who are genuinely seeking Him.
